UAL擁有六大學院，不同學院開設不同的課程項目。UAL開設的專業不僅包括傳統認知里的藝術門類，而且與時俱進，開設傳媒、科技、文化、社會科學等多個交叉方向的藝術學科。為了促進藝術與科學相結合的研究，UAL設立五大研究中心，著重于藝術與計算機科學、社會學等前沿研究領域。

六大學院主要負責學生的培養和部分科研任務：其中坎伯韋爾藝術學院（Camberwell college of arts）和切爾西藝術學院（Chelsea college of arts）側重于純藝與設計；溫布爾登藝術學院（Wimbledon college of arts）側重于表演、影視以及與之相關的藝術設計；中央圣馬丁學院（Central Saint martins）側重于純藝、3D設計與建筑、時尚及紡織品設計、視覺傳達以及媒體等；倫敦時裝學院（London college of fashion）側重于時尚媒體、時尚設計和時尚管理等；倫敦傳媒學院（London college of communication）則提供媒體、設計、影視相關的專業等。除此之外，在主要負責科研的五大科研中心里，創意人工智能中心（Creative computing institute）還提供一系列藝術設計與計算機科學交叉的前沿方向本科專業等。
