In the past century,human society has achieved unprecedented technological progresses,by which,from my perspective,the standard of living for average persons has been greatly bettered.

Admittedly,technological advancement has posed a threat to human’s well-being to some extent.To illustrate,people,especially young children and teenagers,nowadays easily get indulged in or even addicted to hi-tech gadgets,spending hours playing video games and using social media,while they usually neglect their real life and thus lack face-to-face interaction with their families and friends.This,in the long term,may incur feelings of loneliness and isolation.More accurately,those people are basing their sense of self-esteem on the number of‘hearts’and followers,and once the count is below their expectation,they may feel frustrated or even have a negative view on themselves.Meanwhile,collapsing in front of the screen all day with snacks in hand,people nowadays are more likely to suffer from declining level of health,such as corpulence or obesity,while people in the past,without such siren calls,allocated more time to accompanying their beloved ones and smelling the roses.
