However, whether computer skills should beenlisted in our curriculum, as a forth compulsory component, has sparked heateddiscussion recently. From my viewpoint, computer skills are important but not necessaryin terms of public education.

進入新千年十二年，個人見證了計算機在文化、科學、軍事等領域的普遍應用。在教育領域，計算機相關技能及其多樣化的應用在很大程度上促進了世界各地的學生和學校。然而，作為第四個必修課，計算機技能是否應該被列入我們的課程，最近引起了熱烈的討論。從我的觀點來看，計算機技能是重要的，但在公共教育方面是不必要的。

Admittedly, youngsters would , for certain, gain morepopularity in the future job market provided that computer techniques areoffered in schools, since computerized products and technologies havepenetrated virtually every aspect of every industry. In addition, acquiring theessential knowledge regarding computer or even the internet could, to somedegree, help children improve the efficiency and quality of their schoollearning, which tend to be onerous and monotonous based on the currenteducation system.

誠然，如果學校提供計算機技術，青少年肯定會在未來的就業市場上更受歡迎，因為計算機化的產品和技術幾乎已經滲透到每個行業的各個方面。此外，獲得有關計算機或甚至互聯網的基本知識可以在一定程度上幫助兒童提高學校學習的效率和質量，基于目前的教育體系，學校學習往往是繁瑣和單調的。

On the other hand, it seems pointless to add computer skillsinto the schooling list just like the other three, namely reading, writing andmath. Firstly, the burden of students nowadays is fairly considerable. Adding aforth compulsory subject would undoubtedly frustrate and exhaust them, or evenundermine their passion for studying all together. On top of that, computerskills, along with the widespread of personal computers in common household,can be gained in various means besides educational institution. It has been aquite common phenomenon that a major group of adolescents learned how to typeby chatting online, how to save files by downloading the very first movie, andhow to maintain operation system by installing anti-virus software.

另一方面，像其他三項一樣，把計算機技能列入學校名單似乎毫無意義，那就是閱讀、寫作和數學。首先，現在的學生負擔相當可觀。增加第四個必修科目無疑會挫敗和耗盡他們，甚至會削弱他們一起學習的熱情。此外，隨著普通家庭中個人計算機的普及，除了教育機構之外，還可以通過各種方式獲得計算機技能。一大群青少年通過網上聊天學會打字，通過下載第一部電影學會保存文件，通過安裝反病毒軟件來維護操作系統，已經成為一種非常普遍的現象。

Considering all the factors above, I personally reach theconclusion that computer skill should not be added into the current schooldisciplines, even though it is, indisputably, an essential technique to survivein the modern society.

綜上所述，我個人得出結論，即使計算機技能是現代社會賴以生存的基本技能，也不應該被加入到當前的學校學科中。
