1. graph

替換詞 chart，還可以在前面加上 line/pie/column/bar 等，如 line chart， pie graph。

2. diagram

權威詞典中的解釋 a drawing intended to explain how something works； a drawing showing the relation between the parts。

常見的 diagram，如雅思寫作中的流程圖屬于 diagram，diagram 不是 chart 的替換詞。

chart 不是 diagram 的替換詞，但是 flow chart / flow diagram / flow sheet 可以替換 小作文中的 diagram

英語水平真正好的考鴨，知道 demonstrate 和 show 的語義差異，所以決定不用。

替換詞1） amount（+可數名詞/不可數名詞） 2） number（+可數名詞）

注意：the amount of people （表達存在，但是）不適合雅思小作文；可以用the number of people

6. different

替換詞 various

解釋

1） various 更強調多樣性，其實算不算 different 的替換詞，但是放在文章里還可以。

2） distinct 不算錯誤，但是不合適。

這種替換詞展示了考生非常想表現自己背了很多單詞的意圖，但是語義不合適。

因為 distinct 強調不同個體的差異性，而小作文不想強調它們的差異性（比如，這個考題只想強調不同方式的貨運量的差異）。

3） 既然如此，不替換 different 也許才是最好的選擇！

當你開始像以上這樣糾結的時候，你才算開始學習寫作了。

7. between ... and ...

以上4種搭配都不存在，正確的表達可以是

1） from 1974 to 2002 2） during this period （只有前文中出現過1974和 2002，才能這樣指代）
