去過但不想住的家

A home I visited but I didnt want to live in was my cousins villa in the suburb of my city, which was around 150 kilometers away from the city center.

My cousin Shawn invited my parents and I to attend his housewarming party last month and we drove about one and a half hour to his house, which was quite a long trip for me. The villa appeared to be luxurious with his own walled garden and a swimming pool in the backyard. Inside the house, it was packed with sophisticated decorations and delicate furniture, like large floor-to-ceiling windows, unique fire-places, picture rails and various statues. The villa had four floors and one basement which had been designed as an entertainment room with karaoke facilities. Whats more, it was located at a safe distance from the main roads so that no noises of vehicles could be heard. It was certainly a very desirable place to live in, especially for a big family, since it was spacious enough with sufficient facilities as well.

When it comes to why I didnt want to live in, for one, it was so far from the city center that I had to spend at least ninety minutes commuting, not to mention if there would be traffic congestion. I couldnt imagine how exhausted I would be if I lived there.

On the other hand, the design for Shawns villa was nice and uncommon but it made me feel I was visiting an art gallery or a studio. Some people might prefer such style but it was not my cup of tea.
