The pie charts depict the evolution of water usage in five different methods in Australia between 1997 and 2007.

In 1997, the largest amount of water was used in the production and manufacture of food at 48%, whereas the figure dropped to 41% ten years later. With regards to services, the figures remained relatively unchanged at 19% in 1997 and 21% in 2007.

With respect to water for building purposes, in 1997 it was 5% and was subsequently cut by more than half in 2007 to a mere 2%, the lowest figure among the statistics. As for housing, residential usage of water increased from 11% to 15% during the decade-long period.Finally, manufacturing also experienced a hefty rise in utilization rates from 17% to 21% during the duration of the stats.

All in all, water for food usage was the largest quantity while the lowest was for building purposes during both periods.
