Ⅰ、課程性質與設置目的要求
“英語口語”是江蘇省高等教育自學考試英語專業專科階段的必考課程,是一門專門培養英語口語表達和交際能力的單項技能課。其主要任務是,通過圍繞語言功能和一定的話題開展技能訓練,使考生能就日常生活中的一般情景進行恰當的交談,能就社會生活中一般的話題進行連貫的發言和討論,要求能確切表達思想,語音語調基本正確,語言基本準確、得體、流暢。通過本課程的學習,考生應達到普通高等院校英語專業基礎階段的水平。設置本課程的具體目的是,自學者通過讀和聽獲取知識、信息及語言,經過思維,在原有知識及語言的基礎上對所獲得的內容和語言進行加工和重組,并賦予新的內容,然后口頭輸出,從而完成交際的全過程。
Ⅱ、課程內容及考核目標
一、課程內容
本課程的學習內容主要圍繞本課程的指定教材《英語中級口語》(Oral Workshop: Discussion)。全書共35課。每一課的主要學習內容包括:
1、課文錄音。聽錄音,做筆記;模仿語音語調,并根據筆記復述課文內容。
2、學習課文Text A和Text B及其注釋(Notes)、詞語(Phrases)和相關的詞語表達(Related Words and Expressions),并就課文內容回答問題(Question on Text A & Text B)
3、看圖說話(Related Picture)
4、補充信息(Additional Information)
5、討論題(Discussion)
6、扮演角色(Role playing)或解決問題(Problem Solving)
7、句型、詞組與詞匯(Language Devices)
二、考核目標
本課程的考核主要圍繞上述學習內容,考核目標和具體要求如下:
1、課文錄音 能模仿課文錄音磁帶的語音語調,并較為流暢地朗讀課文,單音基本清楚、正確,能較好地使用重音、連續、不完全爆破、節律和升降調等朗讀技巧。聽錄音,做筆記,并能根據筆記復述課文內容。
2、學習課文 學習并掌握課文內容及其主要詞語和表達方法,用正確的語言回答練習中提出的所有問題,最后用10-15句話總結課文大意。
3、看圖說話 運用所提供的詞匯和短語,就圖片內容、圖中人物形象以及考生所認為的人物內心活動提出問題,并回答。然后,對圖片內容用10-15句話進行總結。
4、補充信息 用10-15句話復述補充課文的內容大意。
5、討論題 根據所給問題的提示,運用練習中提供的句型、詞組與詞匯,回答練習中的問題,每題長度可在10-15句話之間。力求陳述自己的觀點。
6、扮演角色或解決問題 考生應能根據練習要求,扮演課文中某一角色,完成練習規定的任務或解決練習中提出的問題。
7、句型、詞組與詞匯 模仿所列句型造句,并盡量在完成上述練習中運用這些句型,基本掌握其用法。
Ⅲ、有關說明與實施要求
一、關于課程內容和考試目標
以上列出的課程學習內容和考核目標,將作為考生學習和考試命題的主要依據。考生應圍繞本課程的指定教材,按要求全面系統地學習和掌握全書每一課的主要學習內容。口語考試是對應試者英語口頭表達和交際能力的測試。考生應通過英語口語自學考試教材的自學自練,能夠用基本準確、得體的英語進行口頭表達和交際活動。考試命題范圍將主要圍繞教材學習內容,以教材所涉及的主題為中心和重點,同時包括有關考生個人背景、日常生活、工作學習、興趣愛好等方面的內容。命題應根據考核目標來把握試題的知識能力層次和難易程序。
二、關于自學教材和學習方法
本課程所指定的教材為《英語中級口語》(Oral Workshop:Discussion)吳幀福主編,外語教學與研究出版社。
本課程以訓練口頭語言表達為目的,是一門基本技能課程。考生自學過程中,勤學苦練是成功的關鍵。考生應以教材為本,掌握與教材專題有關的一定數量的詞匯、習慣表達法和句型,注意學習如何在一定的場合恰當得體地進行運用。然后通過反復聽錄音,模仿語音語調,讀背課文,口頭回答問題,復述課文,口頭歸納總結等多種形式的自我練習,掌握教材內容,獲得相應的口語表達能力。另外還要利用一切可能的機會使用英語,如向他人轉述自己的所見所聞,與同學、朋友、外賓等進行英語交談,逐步在口語實踐中學好口語。
三、關于考試形式、內容和成績評定
1、考試形式、內容。英語口語考試的形式是口試。英語答題。考試分三部分。
第一部分:朗讀短文并根據短文內容回答問題。
要求考生考前用大約10分鐘的時間仔細閱讀一篇約250個英語單詞的短文,考試時按考官指示朗讀短文中的某一段落,然后回答考官就該短文內容提出的幾個問題。考生回答提問時不允許看短文。
第二部分:口頭作文
要求考生就所給題目或圖片,準備1分鐘,然后作大約2分鐘的連續性發言。題目或圖片所涉及的內容與教材中的課文或專題有關。
第三部分:討論
要求考生就所給題目或圖片,略做半分鐘的準備,然后展開2-3分鐘的討論。題目或圖片所涉及的內容與教材中的課文或專題有關。
每次考試時間約為8-10分鐘/人。
2、成績評定。英語口語考試的評分以百分制計算,100分為滿分,60分為及格。評分分為四部分。前三部分的評分主要看考生的回答內容是否正確、準確、完整;第四部分的評分主要從語言表達方式的角度評估考生回答問題、陳述和討論時的口語表現。各部分分值及評分標準簡述如下:
Part One: Read aloud the text in italics and answer 4 questions(20%)。其中朗讀占4分,每個問題各占4分。滿分為20分。朗讀主要看考生朗讀時的語音語調(如單詞發音、強讀、弱讀、連讀、不完全爆破、升降調、節奏等)和流暢度。回答問題主要看考生的回答內容是否正確、準確、完整。
Part Two: Mini - presentation(20%)。所談內容的思想性和完整性各占10分。滿分為20分。內容的思想性即看考生所談內容是否緊扣主題,完整性則看考生能否圍繞主題展開陳述,回答是否全面、完整。
Part Three:Discussion(20%)。所討論內容的相關性和擴展性各占10爭。滿分為20分。
Part Four: Oral discourse performance(40%)。該部分主要從語篇的角度評價考生完成以上三部分內容時的口語表現。分“語音語調”(Pronunciation&intonation)、“詞匯語法”(Gram-marr&vocabulary)、“話語運用”(Discourse management)和“互動交流”(Interactive communication)四項,每項各占10分。共40分。其中
“語音語調”主要評估考生回答問題和陳述時的語音語調是否正確、自然(如單詞發音、強讀、弱讀、連讀、不完全爆破、升降調、節奏等)以及流暢度。
“詞匯語法”主要評估考生回答問題和陳述時所使用的詞匯和語法是否準確、恰當,以及詞匯和句法是否豐富。
“話語運用”主要評估考生回答問題和陳述時的邏輯、連貫性以及陳述的長度和完整性。
“互動交流”主要評估考生回答問題和陳述時與主考教師的互動交流技巧,如聽力理解和快速反應能力、自我糾錯能力、解釋說明能力、聽與說的角色轉換能力、話題拓展能力以及體態語表達能力等。
以上四部分成績之和,為“英語口語”課程的總評成績。滿分為100分。

Christmas Cards and Celebrations
The practice of exchanging Christmas cards became a widespread custom in the 19th century. Europeans had distributed woodprints of religious themes for Christmas during the Middle Ages. In 1843 English illustrator John Callcott Horsley created the first modern Christmas card. The card depicted a family celebration and its words read,“A Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to You.”In the United States, German - born printer Louis Prang made advances in color lithography(平版印刷術)that enabled him to mass produce a colorful Christmas card in 1875. The card sold extremely well, and soon the custom of exchanging Christmas cards spread throughout the country. Most people who celebrate Christmas also participate in special holiday activities in their homes. Families often decorate evergreen trees and place colorfully wrapped presents beneath them. A family member might read passages from the Bible. Or families might gather around the television to watch old movie favorites or holiday cartoons. Each year ad Christmas approaches, many families attend church gatherings that recount the story of Jesus' birth. On Christmas Eve, children often hang stockings; they awake in the morning to find the stockings filled with gifts from Santa Claus. Many families attend church on Christmas Eve and open their gifts that evening. Others wait until the next morning to exchange gifts.

Ⅲ:Discussion(20%)
Directions: In this part of the test, you are going to discuss atopic. You have about 30 seconds to think how to begin and then discuss the topic for about 3 minutes. (Place the following card in frong of the candidate, and allow 30 seconds for candidate to think.)
